Local Facilities
The small town of Gemozac is approximately 1km from the Gite and holds a weekly market every Friday , which starts at 7.00 am and closes around midday. There is also a large supermarket in the town ( SuperU ) which stocks everything from babies nappies to barbecues. many local shops vie for trade offering bread, vegetables, pastries, meats and of course there are many fish stalls and oyster sellers dotted around the town, needless to say there is a bar and tabac.
Local restaurants offer regional and national dishes at prices to suit all budgets, eg La Roze, La Caravelle and La Florentine to name but a few. Gourmet dining is also available in Saintes, La Rochelle and Cognac.
Doctors, chemists and all other healthcare is also locally available, do not forget your European Health Insurance Card which has replaced the E11D forms.
